Mazaher is orange blossom water. Most Lebanese kitchens keep a bottle, and it gets poured into hot water and handed to someone who is anxious or cannot sleep.

This roll-on is built on that flower. Ambrette seed sits underneath it, a musk that comes from a plant rather than an animal, and it keeps the orange blossom close to the skin instead of floating above it. Orris root adds a cool, powdery depth. Labdanum, the resin of the Mediterranean rockrose, holds the whole thing down so it lasts past the first hour.

Jojoba leads the base because it is a liquid wax rather than an oil. It will not go off in a bag carried through a summer.

  • Labdanum, holds the scent through the day
